mayor bloomberg was a featured speaker at HRC's annual dinner at the waldorf-astoria in new york. totally ridiculous. although he has come out in favor of same-sex marriage, he just fucking decided to appeal the marriage case to the new york supreme court. republican bastard. i went last weekend to the equality illinois annual gala, and was quite stunned to find that the few republican politicians who showed up, such as state republican chair judy barr topinka, a pro-gay republican who nonetheless is personally responsible for alan keyes running for senate here, got the loudest cheers of anyone. for christ's sake. who are our fucking friends?

She wasn't "personally responsible" for Keyes. She didn't recruit him, she opposed his appointment and didn't even have a vote on the committee.
